GIAC Stage 2+ Powered 991 Turbo S goes 10.20@134.5 mph in the ¼ mile!

6speedonline member MarkBlackwell propelled his Porsche 991 Turbo S down the drag way for an 10.2 second pass, setting a new U.S. record quarter mile time (world’s fastest for an NHRA sanctioned track) for the Porsche 991 Turbo platform (previously held by another GIAC customer).

Blackwell’s 991 Turbo S is equipped with only bolt-on components and off-the-shelf software. The record-setting Turbo modification list is as follows:

  • Stage 2+ GIAC Calibration (with optional race mode)
  • Champion Motorsport Intercoolers
  • GMG Racing World Challenge Race Exhaust
  • BMC Drop-in Air Filter
  • Mickey Thompson Drag Radials (rear only) on 20” stock turbo wheels
  • VP MS109 Fuel

Incidently, a GIAC tuned 997.2 Turbo still holds the quartermile record for the 997.2 platform with stock turbos on an NHRA sanctioned track. For more information on that Champion Motorsport/GIAC prepared vehicle, please visit:
