GIAC software calibrations for the C7 RS6 & RS7 are now available!

2015-07-08

GIAC Stage 1 software is now available for the 2016 C7 Audi RS6 & RS7 facelift models. Like the 2014-2015 models, this software calibration accommodates the factory exhaust and intake system and retains OEM-like drivability, but offers dramatic performance improvements over the factory software. On 91 octane fuel, peak to peak performance gains are measured at 80-85 wheel HP and 130-135 ft lbs wheel torque. In some areas of the power band, gains are as high as 121 wheel HP and 145 ft lbs wheel torque. Using 100 octane fuel, peak to peak performance gains are measured at 130-135 wheel HP and 130-135 ft lbs wheel torque. In some areas of the power band, gains are as high as 146 wheel HP and 145 ft lbs wheel torque. The calibration features a proprietary boost control system to optimize air flow and horsepower. Special thanks to Tag Motorsports for testing with their new 2016 project RS7! Other notable features include the following:

  • 100% OBD2 installation, no ECU removal required
  • properly recalibrated air/fuel ratios
  • improved throttle response for a drive-by-cable system feel
  • optimized torque control for smoother, faster shifting
  • dramatically increased in horsepower/torque throughout the entire power band
  • raised speed limiters to factory redline in final drive gear
The software purchase (MSRP $3000) includes all GIAC program switching options (Stock, Race and Valet modes) and a GIAC Handheld Program Switcher.

The following ECU part numbers have been added to the GIAC calibration library. If you own a 2016 model and your part number is not on the list, ask your GIAC authorized dealer to submit a file request.

Dynamometer test results from an MD-500 Mustang dyno are included here. The graph plots power tests (wheel HP and TQ) for a 2014 Audi RS7. The red line denotes a completely stock RS7 with OEM software, exhaust, intake and charge cooler, on 91 octane. The blue line denotes the same RS7 with GIAC 91 octane Stage 1 software, OEM exhaust, intake and charge cooler, on 91 octane. All runs performed in high ambient temperatures (85 87 degrees Fahrenheit in the dyno cell).
