VF-Engineering '97-'03 BMW® 540i E39 V8 Supercharger Kit |

GIAC created custom software for VF Engineering's new 540i© V8 Supercharger Kit. The final product delivers an increase of 128 HP and 85 TQ. The Supercharger kit is based on the Vortech V2 SQ centrifugal supercharger. The supercharger mounting brackets are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and mounted to the motor on OEM mounting points with high tensile hardware. The supercharger is driven off an additional pulley bolted onto the OEM crank pulley and tensioned with an OEM active sprung tensioner. All ducting is manufactured from high quality molded polypropolene. A cold air intake is included together with an airboxed K&N induction filter. The kit includes a crankcase vent safety system and boost overrun systems. Boost is set to a mild 6 psi and fueling and engine management is controlled with larger Bosch fuel injectors, a recalibrated MAF sensor and extensively tested custom GIAC ECU software. Developed and tested with 91-octane, this fully tuned system would be safe to integrate vechicles in most countries. |
